TexanBuddy User Guide
We Start with the Pre-Flop
As you are dealt your hole cards, select these cards within TexanBuddy either using your mouse or using the hot keys. Once you have told TexanBuddy your cards it will start to analyse them and give you it's pre-flop analysis. Information shown is the pre-flop's ranking out of 169, a short summary and your win percentage based upon the number of opponents in the game. Also the pre-flop analysis changes colour based upon rank and win percentage, from bright green to represent good hole cards to bright red to indicate bad hole cards.
As a guide if you want to play a tight game, play the top 5 ranking hands. Playing an average game
play the top 10 and playing loose the top 20. If you're the dealer then you can play the top 10 in
a tight game, 20 playing average and 30 playing loose. Call and raise accordingly.
Next we have the Post-Flop
If you're still in the game after the flop then select the three flop cards in TexanBuddy and also
the number of opponents left in the hand. TexanBuddy will then perform several million calculations to work out the odds of your hand and your opponent hands.
Next the Turn Card
If you're still in the game after the turn card then select this card from the card list. TexanBuddy will then continue to calculate your odds of your hand and your opponent hands.
And Finally the River Card
Finally, if you're still in the game after the final river card then select this card from the card list. TexanBuddy will now calculate your final odds of winning your hand against your opponent hands.
Once the hand is finished, click on New Hand button to start over again.
TexanBuddy's Other Features
Number of Outs
Outs are the number of cards that will improve your poker hand. The higher the number the more possibilities of you making a better hand.
Hand Strength
This advises you of the current strength of your hand. The maximum is 100% and the higher the
percentage the more chance you have of winning.
If the Hand Strength is 100% then you have the best hand possible (The Nuts) and you can guarantee
a win!
If you hold a hand with a percentage greater than 90% then it's worth raising. Above 50% and it's worth
calling. Obviously you can change the way you play and call only on hands greater than 80% strength
for tight play.
Win Odds
These are the odds of the current hand you hold from winning the pot. This differs from the hand
strength as it gives the potential odds for when the river card is dealt. Therefore you can see the
potential of your hand and see if it's worth staying after the flop or folding your hand.
